Lambda Chi
had a really successful quarter! We were able to host our annual food
drive, which we expect will raise approximately 100,000 pounds for the
needy, were featured in 1 DU Today article and 3 Clarion articles for
our philanthropic efforts. We were able to get great alumni support and
participation this year as well as participation from local businesses.
In addition, we had a check presentation in which we presented $16,000
to the National Sports Center for the Disabled. The money was raised
during the 2008-2009 school year from Mustache Bash.
This fall, we also were able to make it up to Snow Mountain Ranch
for our annual first-year retreat where we got to know our Associate
Members and teach them about the many values of Lambda Chi Alpha. Also,
during Homecoming and Parents weekend, we hosted a reception at the
house for parents of Brothers and alumni of the chapter. We had over
150 attend over the course of the event and it was a great way to
connect with alumni and parents.
In addition, we welcomed 42 new members into our Brotherhood this
quarter and are very excited about their many contributions to the
Chapter and to the University of Denver. Furthermore, our Brothers have
been very active around campus this quarter, participating in other
houses philanthropic efforts and participating in a number of intramural
sports and campus activities, including having Brothers serve on the
Undergraduate Student Government, the DU Programs Board, serving as
Orientation Leaders, participating in the Pioneer Leadership Program and
Creativity and Entrepreneurship LLC's, getting involved in various
community service programs and club Lacrosse.
As we approach winter break, we are very excited for the Brothers
returning from abroad and planning for Mustache Bash.
