The purpose of the All Undergraduate Student Association (AUSA) Senate is to promote AUSA members’ interests in the areas of academic affairs, campus life, the administration of DU, and students’ personal development and growth. The Senate also allocates the student activity fee to licensed student organizations and provides many services. Senators meet weekly to pass legislation and advocate for the betterment of our campus.
Senate Initiatives
Many things that you see around the University of Denver campus come from the work of past and present AUSA Senators. A few of them include:
- Free passes to use the RTD Light Rail and buses for all undergraduate students
- Free athletic tickets for undergraduate students, with the exception of hockey.
- Flat screen announcement TV’s located in the Driscoll Center.
- Renovation of Pioneer Place (Driscoll North, 2nd Floor Common Area).
- Renovation of the Driscoll Commons.
- Recycling center in Centennial Halls.
- Printing station in the Driscoll Center.
- Annual University of Denver Diversity Summit (now run by the Center for Multicultural Excellence, but AUSA remains a major sponsor).
- Free newspapers throughout campus to improve campus readership
