Education Foundation

  • Alpha Pi Zeta Educational Foundation

    Overview:
Founded in 1985, the Alpha Pi Zeta Educational Foundation was the first chapter-level, independent scholarship granting foundation in Lambda Chi Alpha. The Foundation was formed and operates under the Colorado Nonprofit Corporation Act and it is designated a qualified, tax-exempt public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions to the Foundation are deductible to the full extent provided by law.

We plan to continue our efforts at providing scholarships and supporting leadership activities on behalf of the undergraduate membership of Lambda Chi Alpha at the University of Denver. Thanks to the tremendous support of alumni and friends of our fraternity over the years we have been able to give out more than $250,000 in scholarships to our undergraduate brothers.

    Purpose:
The driving ethic behind the Alpha Pi Zeta Educational Foundation is to work with the undergraduate chapter to foster excellence in academic achievement and leadership. To do this, the Foundation is committed to building alumni/undergraduate partnerships to encourage high standards in all areas of chapter operations and has prioritized the following activities.

    Academic Achievement and Leadership Development:
    * To award Alpha Pi Men of the Year scholarships recognizing superior performance in campus leadership, fraternity leadership, academics and athletics.

    * To award annual financial assistance scholarships to help ensure that the fraternity experience is affordable to all deserving men.

    * To award scholarships for attendance at general fraternity sponsored national and regional leadership training meetings.

    * To strengthen the academic environment of the fraternity and the Alfred C. "Pete" Nelson Memorial Library.

    * To co ntinue to build a career development services for upperclassmen looking to find internships or job contacts.

Alumni, Parents and Friends -- We Need Your Support!

The Alpha Pi Zeta Educational Foundation is funded completely by alumni donations.  In the Fall of 2010 we are reorganizing our fundraising efforts after taking 5 years off of fundraising to support the new Chapter House Campaign.  As a 501 C3 non profit corporation, any donation to the Educaitonal Foundation is fully tax deductable to the extent provided by law.  Donations of $1,000.00 or more put you on the Foundation Board of Advisors, but any size donation helps.  For more information, please contact Drew Hunter, Foundation Treasurer.  Drew can be reached at drew@bacchusnetwork.org.
